Hi, I’m Kyla. And I’m thrilled to be here with you.
I’ve been traveling for over 20 years, taking my first international trip to Italy at 16 with my High School art class and three best friends. During that trip I lost my wallet (with all my money), twice. Thankfully the second time the kindest waiter returned my early 2000’s version of a fanny pack-meets-crossbody with all my cash included – I’m not sure my grandfather would have wired me funds a second time.
I’ve made so many mistakes, and just had a series of really unfortunate bad luck, like the time my connecting flight to Barbados was delayed resulting in a missed transfer and thousands in unexpected added travel expenses for Ubers, meals, and flight change fees because I used airline miles and booked two separate itineraries with two airlines. And that’s sans any lodging costs for an unplanned overnight layover because thankfully we have family in New York. (Fun fact: Jet Blue doesn’t really care if Delta’s pilot was late.) Or the time a mother with two children stole my passport, while I was en route to the airport on the train in Barcelona. Or the time I got COVID in Bilbao and had to stay an extra week until I tested negative. There’s a running joke in my family that I can’t go back to Spain or I might not make it home next time.
Lucky for you, I share these stories in a humble and hopefully humorous way so you don’t have to make the same mistakes I do.

Travel blogs have also been extremely helpful resources for my own personal planning. I’ve dreamed of launching my own for at least three years, probably closer to ten if I’m honest.
In 2024, my partner and I decided to relocate to New Orleans, truly our favorite city in the US. With that move I also left the startup nonprofit accelerator and resource hub I spent the past five years launching and scaling, for a hard earned, self-funded sabbatical. And as if these planned life events weren’t enough, the universe also decided to grace me with the biggest change of all; my beloved 40 pound pitbull who I’ve shared my entire adult life with, outlasting any of my romantic relationships by far, passed away in November just shy of her sixteenth birthday. While devastatingly heartbreaking, both planned and unplanned life changes have made space for me to finally pour my creative energy into something new.

This is Drew. Andy, on the rare occasion he shaves his beard for the odd Halloween or 70’s disco themed wedding. We both love to travel (and eat), and majority of our trips over the past five years have been together, so I may use “we” or “us” interchangeably throughout.

Whether you’re a seasoned traveler or you’re planning your first trip; if you’re googling Best Steakhouses in Argentina or HELP MY PASSPORT WAS STOLEN I’M STRANDED IN EUROPE, whether you’re looking for things to do in Dubai or recs in our homebase and food mecca of the States, whether you’re here for a long time or here for a good time, I hope you find what you’re looking for.
